I’ve recently connected with Marah & I’m so grateful! She’s such an awesome friend to have! I always love chatting with her! Not to mention she’s got the cutest baby girl I’ve ever seen! Thanks for letting me share your cute love story!
Ryan + Marah
How long have you been married?
We have been married for about 2.5 years (but together for about 8yrs)
History of your marriage; how you met? Became engaged?
We met one night near my 21st birthday (Sept 2009) I went out to celebrate with my best friend & cousin. Ryan happened to be at the same restaurant & bar we had dinner. The owner of the bar bought us drinks for my birthday & he also had some drinking contest thing going with Ryan & his friend. Way later that night, we ended up at Colonial Park Diner. (We had been at Spice on 2nd St earlier that night)… We looked around the diner & Ryan happened to be there too with a group of his friends. He kept trying to talk to us but I wasn’t interested. He found us all days later on Facebook & added us. He invited me to a couple parties but I never went. Months later I went to dinner at Olive Garden with my best friend & looked over & the booth next to us was Ryan on a date with a girl. Another crazy coincidence. I finally went to one of his parties with friends & he & I became good friends. Eventually our friendship got so strong we didn’t want to spend much time apart & he totally won me over. We dated & lived together for about 4 years before we got engaged.
Funny story: he proposed to be in the dark in our bedroom. When he put the ring on my finger it felt fake & I had to turn the light on because I thought he was joking 😂
What is your favorite thing about him/her?
At first I would’ve always said it was his sense of humor.. as time has gone on, it’s truly hard to choose. I’d have to say his ability to love and forgive.
What is your most memorable moment together?
One of our “first dates” that at the time, I was clueless & didn’t really think it was a date… he showed up with flowers, a ring pop, & a painting 😂 Can’t say the man wasn’t trying. That night we enjoyed our “favorite dinner” that we make now on special occasions to celebrate that day.
What is your favorite thing to do together?
We love hiking and camping but on the flip side we also enjoy being super lazy, snuggling, watching movies & eating tons of yummy food.
What is your biggest piece of advice for a man going into his marriage?
Be honest & have integrity. Do not think you are better. Always communicate your feelings & LISTEN to her when she talks.
What is your biggest piece of advice for a woman going into her marriage?
Do not think you are better. Don’t be afraid to communicate your feelings & make him listen. Also respect him & don’t be too stubborn. Compromise is everything.
What do you think makes a marriage work?
Both of you can never stop trying. Always show that you love & respect each other. Never walk away & always talk things out. Say I love you every day & never forget to compliment your partner- even if it’s something small. Don’t ever stop showing appreciation.
